Yan Hao Was Invited to Meet with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte

On Dec. 11, 2019, Yan Hao, Chairman of the Board of CPCG, led a delegation to the Philippines, and was invited to pay a visit to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte at the Malacañan Palace. Philippine Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and Assistant Secretary of Public Works and Highways attended the talks.
Duterte extended a warm welcome to CPCG’s delegation. He said that China and the Philippines, in recent years, have maintained close exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in various fields. China's “Belt and Road” Initiative coincides with the Philippines' “Build, Build, Build” Program, in which infrastructure construction lies the key to both party’s cooperation. Duterte gave a thumbs-up to the strength and reputation of CPCG. He said that the current business environment in the Philippines is healthy and clean, and CPCG is very welcomed to invest in the Philippines. He will fully support CPCG to participate in the construction of the Philippines and offer necessary support and assistance when needed. He expexted that CPCG in the Philippines will continue to play its principle of “Fast Progress, High Quality and Low Cost” and strive to complete several key projects within two years. He highly recognized the case of Suqian Shifu Avenue constructed by CPCG, which took 7 months to finish while it was originally scheduled to be completed in 14 months.

Yan Hao introduced to Duterte CPCG’s development process and business scope, and elaborated on the group's development plans and projects in Southeast Asia. He said that it is based on the working philosophy of “Fast Progress, High Quality, Low Cost, Few Conflicts and High Efficiency” and its insistence on building word-of-mouth projects that enables CPCG, as a private enterprise, to stand out from China’s infrastructure market monopolized by state-owned and central enterprises and to have become a Global 500 Company. Yan Hao particularly thanked Mr. President Duterte for his recognition and support that CPCG is very optimistic about the vast market of sustainable development of the Philippines. The group will introduce to the Philippines our rich market experience accumulated by outstanding Chinese private enterprises over the 40 years since China's reform and opening up. Starting from infrastructure, CPCG will expand its cooperation to areas including industrial towns, culture and tourism, and health care step by step, to play a greater role in the social development, economic prosperity and improvement of people's livelihood in the Philippines.

Philippine Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III welcomed Yan's visit. Tugade spoke highly of the achievements made by CPCG and introduced the basic information of 100 projects under the Philippine government's “Build, Build, Build” Program. He said that infrastructure construction has always remain as a key development area of the Philippines while CPCG has rich experience and technological advantages in this field. He is highly looking forward to involving CPCG to Philippine infrastructure construction.

Meanwhile, Dominguez III extended an olive branch to CPCG for a series of projects funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the World Bank, and expressed his expectation for future cooperation.

After the talks, Duterte and Yan Hao took a photo together.
